New 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Inventory

The Exciting 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning

The Ford F-150 Lightning is an electric variant of the F-150 full-size pickup. While the current Lightning pays homage to the past even as its all-electric drivetrain brings Ford into the future. The F-150 Lightning is an excellent option for pickup purists who favor a conventional truck's appearance and sturdy body-on-frame construction.

Performance

All new F-150 Lightning pickups have two electric motors and an all-wheel drive. They produce the same amount of maximum torque, which is 775 lb-ft.

The standard range battery provides 98 kWh of sound energy, while the extended range battery provides 131 kWh. As a result, the standard model has 452 horsepower, whereas the extended model has 580 horsepower.

Trim Levels

The 2023 Ford F-150 is available in four trim levels, including Platinum Pro, XLT, and Lariat. These versions have all-wheel drive and a single-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, they are equipped with Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, which allows the truck to autonomously maneuver into position for hitching a trailer. Included in the optional Tow Technology Package on Pro, XLT, and select Lariat models. On other Lariat trims and the Platinum trim, this function is standard.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Depending on the type, there's a 12-inch or 15.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12-inch digital instrument cluster. Each display has clear, contemporary visuals, but the larger two touchscreens retain a conventional volume control on the edge of the screen.

Exterior

The front end of the 2023 F-150 Lightning appears more streamlined than its combustion-powered relatives. The full-width LED bar (XLT and higher) also gives the Lightning a futuristic appearance.

The Lightning is only available with a Super Crew cab and a bed length of 5.5 feet. The absence of an engine creates a big (14.1-cubic-foot) storage space behind the hood, capable of accommodating 400 pounds of cargo or a couple of golf bags. Additionally, there are multiple power outlets in this area and the bed.

The standard Pro model lacks side steps. Standard on the Platinum is a power-retractable set, available on the Lariat and optional on the XLT.

Interior

This current Ford F-150 half-ton pickup truck has a refined and quiet interior. The electric motors' low whirring makes it seem even quieter. With 43.6 inches of back legroom, the Super Crew cab is colossal.

The Pro trim has vinyl seat coverings; however, the Platinum does not come standard with Max Recline front seats that fold nearly flat.

At XLT and above, you can cover a retractable shift lever by the center armrest, creating a laptop surface.

2023 F-150 Lightning Highlights

Electric drivetrain

Ford has built a viable and appealing electric pickup with the F-150 Lightning, although a few other automakers are still attempting to do so.

Aluminum

The Lightning is a perfect example of why Ford's creative use of aluminum in all F-150 models makes perfect sense. It would be much heavier if made entirely of steel, reducing its range.

Power out

In addition to 115-volt outlets in various locations for recharging electric bikes, power tools, and several other items, the F-150 Lightning can use its battery to power a home during a power outage.

On-Board Scales

This brilliant optional feature informs the driver of the payload and trailer weight. Additionally, the F-150 Lightning can calculate the available range and plan routes incorporating charging stations.

Pro Trailer Hitch Support

This brand-new feature controls the throttle, steering, and brakes to make attaching a trailer easier. It is included in the Tow Technology package, available on lower trim levels and standard on higher trims.
